MTV Hustle Show Theme & Format

MTV Hustle is India’s first reality show based on rap that blends competition with authenticity and culture. Judges ranging between Raftaar, Nucleya, Raja Kumari in Season 1 and up Badshah, EPR, Dino James, Dee MC, and Ikka Singh in the later seasons–coach contestants through battles that are based on squads. The show is a showcase for lyrical sophistication and flow, as well as stage presence and storytelling. MTV Hustle Season 1 (2019)

The first season debuted on the 10th of August, 2019 with Gaelyn Mendonca, host, and the judging panel consisting composed of Raftaar, Nucleya, and Raja Kumari. It showcased raw talent such as M-Zeebella, EPR, King Rocco, and many more. The show was a celebration of poetic storytelling and rap’s foundational elements. After 20 hours of intense shows, Deepak “M-Zee Bella” Singh from Ludhiana was awe-inspiring to viewers with his emotional lyrics winning the coveted trophy. The second-placed contender, EPR, also gained fans who were fervent. M-Zee Bella’s victory helped set the model for truth-driven street-flavored Indian hip-hop. Its influence is still evident in the subsequent seasons.

MTV Hustle Season 2 (2022)

Season 2–branded “Hustle 2.0”–aired December 2022. Badshah took over the judges’ role and supervised teams that were led by Dino James, Dee MC, EPR, and King Rocco. Abhishek “MC Square” Bainsla from Faridabad was awarded the top prize and was praised by Badshah for his story-telling style. Paradox finished second. The season focused on the dynamic of teams as well as the expansion of the variety of rap. The victory of MC Square signified the beginning of a new generation of fans who appreciate cohesive storytelling and performance and highlighting how the show was able to balance individuality and mentorship-driven growth.

MTV Hustle Season 3 (2023)

The show will air until the end of 2023. Season 3 continued with Badshah and her crew members; Ikka Singh joined as the squad’s manager. The show was hosted by Super Manikk and Wicked Sunny The season also included Uday “Uday Pandhi” Pandhi who, at the age of 19, was one of the youngest winners. Bassick took runner-up. Uday’s razor-sharp lyricism, a nimble flow and consistent performances over 20 episodes wowed the judges and viewers. The season focused on youth energy and technical ability, as well as the ability to innovate, which has fueled enthusiasm for rap among younger audiences and enhancing the role of MTV Hustle as a launching pad for new artists.

MTV Hustle Season 4 (2024)

Season 4–titled Hip Hop Don’t Stop–premiered 19 October 2024. The panel was joined by Raftaar and Ikka together, along with team chiefs EPR, Dino James, Dee MC, and newcomer Raga who was guiding contestants. The show was hosted by Jizzy and Talha Siddiqui. The finale was a riot of energy for six of the finalists. Vinayak “Lashcurry” Lashkari won on the 22nd December of 2024 with Naam Sujal runner-up, and Dharmik third. Lashcurry’s rhymes that are structured and his squad synergy helped him stand out. The season reinforced the tradition of MTV Hustle: the influence of mentors, the public’s vote influence, and intensely creative and competitive talent within a group structure.
