Note that the BPL did not take place in 2014 because of political unrest, and in 2021 because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

2012: Dominance of the Dhaka Gladiators

The first BPL season of 2012 was a thrilling tournament. Dhaka Gladiators won the championship by beating Barisal Burners. Dhaka Gladiators chased a 141-run target and reached 144/2 within just 15 overs. They won by 8 wickets. The balanced squad and their strategic play were the key to this victory.

2013: Dhaka Gladiators Win Consecutive Matches

Dhaka Gladiators won the championship again in 2013 after building on their previous successes. Dhaka scored 172/9 from 20 overs against Chittagong Kings. The bowlers of Dhaka then limited Chittagong Kings to 129 runs in 16.5 overs. This sealed a win by 43 runs. Dhaka’s back-to-back victories solidified its reputation as a formidable BPL force.

2015: Comilla Victorians’ Maiden Triumph

The BPL was back in 2015 after a break in 2014. Comilla Victorians won the BPL after a thrilling final against Barisal Bulls. Comilla Victorians, chasing 157 with three wickets, achieved their target, bringing them their first BPL championship and introducing an exciting new force to the league.

2016: Dhaka Dynamites’ Resurrection

The Dhaka franchise, rebranded as Dhaka Dynamites in 2016, regained glory. The Dhaka franchise set a goal of 160 for Rajshahi Kings who failed to reach it at 103. This gave Dhaka an impressive 56-run win. Dhaka’s adaptability and consistent performance were highlighted by this win.

2017: Rangpur Riders: Commanding Performance

Rangpur Riders dominated the 2017 season. They defeated Dhaka Dynamites with a score of 206/1 thanks to Chris Gayle’s explosive batting. Rangpur’s 57 run victory showed their batting prowess as well as strategic ability.

Comilla Victorians win second title in 2019

Comilla Victorians have reaffirmed the stature of their team by winning their second title for 2019. Comilla Victorians won by 17 runs after posting a 199/3 score against Dhaka Dynamites. This win was a testament to their excellence in the league.

First Championship for Rajshahi Royals in 2020

Rajshahi Royals defeated Khulna Tigers in the 2020 season to crown a new winner. Rajshahi Royals’ bowlers limited Khulna Tigers to 149/8 after setting a target of 170–a 21-run win and their first BPL title.

Comilla Victorians triumph in 2022

The BPL was resumed in the year 2022 after a break caused by a pandemic in 2021. Comilla Victorians won their third title after narrowly beating Fortune Barishal. Comilla Victorians restricted Barishal’s score to 150/8 by defending 151. This resulted in a thrilling 1 run victory.

2023: Comilla Victorians’ Fourth Title

Comilla Victorians won their fourth BPL championship in 2023, continuing their dominance. Comilla Victorians achieved their target of 176, set by Sylhet, with 7 wickets remaining, cementing the legacy they have in the BPL.

2024 – Fortune Barishal’s maiden victory

Fortune Barishal won their first BPL championship in 2024. Barishal defeated Comilla Victorias by six wickets.
